Red Cabbage and Paneer Kebabs – Healthy Tikki Recipe.

Red Cabbage and Paneer Kebabs is one recipe that is nutritious, wholesome, and loaded with flavors. Super healthy and a perfect recipe to make for your kids. These Red cabbage kebabs are crisp from the outside and soft from inside. The perfect balance of flavors makes it even more yummy and tasty.

Who doesn’t love Kebabs? If you ask me I can eat Kebabs/Tikkis every single day. From Dahi ke kebabs to Makhmali Paneer Kebabs to Rajma Kebabs and if you have leftover Poha, you can even make Poha Kebabs/Tikkis/Cutlets. There shouldn’t be any wastage in the kitchen. LOL.

This is the first time I tried something with Red Cabbage. I have seen this vegetable before but haven’t made anything with them. This time my husband got a beautiful Red Cabbage at home and I thought why not make something delicious with them

In order to make it healthier and yummier, I have added Paneer to it. Since we both didn’t want to add maida/all purpose flour, we decided to add boiled and mashed aloo for the binding. Also, instead of deep frying, we shallow fried these Red Cabbage and Paneer kebabs.

This recipe is super easy and you just have to mix everything and make tikkis/kebabs and just shallow fry them

Let’s talk about Red Cabbage:

Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, mix all the above ingredients together except oil. Once mixed, taste the mixture and adjust the salt and pepper according to taste.
  2. You can add garam masala and chat masala too but we haven't as the flavor of black pepper powder tastes fantastic in kebabs.
  3. See if the mixture is binding together and make tikkis out of it. Because of aloo and paneer, it will bind together. Since we are shallow frying it, we haven't added any maida or all-purpose flour for that extra binding.
  4. Take small balls of the mixture prepared and make round tikkis out of it. You can give any shape of your choice.
  5. Heat a non stick pan and grease it with some oil. Shallow fry them till they get cook evenly from both sides.
  6. Serve it hot with any chutney or your choice.
Recipe Notes
  • More vegetables like carrot and capsicum can be added.
  • Can be deep-fried.
  • Can be made in small balls if you are presenting as a tooth-pick starter.
  • Adjust the masala according to your taste.
  • If deep-frying, try with one kebab at first. It should not break.
  • For better frying, you can add maida for that extra binding.
