Nariyal Laddoos - decadent Coconut laddoos

Nariyal laddoos or popularly known as Coconut laddoos are the easiest and simplest recipe for people who are beginners in the kitchen. When I started cooking, I didn’t want to try desserts or Indian sweets because I used to feel Indian mithai are difficult to make. If you are someone like me, who are scared but want to try Indian mithai, try your hands with this recipe.

It was a pre-Navratri eve and I wanted to make something for Durga Ji ka Prashad and then this came into my head. Why not make Coconut laddoos with market made desiccated coconut, milk, and sugar! Voila, made these in 15 minutes.

3 ingredients – no khoya – no milkmaid and turns out BOMB!

  • I have used market/ready-made Coconut bura/ burada or Nariyal ka burada. Linking the one I have used here.
  • Milk
  • Sugar

Handy notes before making these yummy Nariyal Laddoos:

  • Always use a non-stick kadhai for making them, as they tend to stick.
  • Roll the laddoos when the mixture is a bit hot/warm.
  • Always use fresh desiccated coconut/ Nariyal burada.
  • Keep the desiccated coconut in the fridger.
  • For the orange color, I have used saffron strands, you can use food color too.

  3. Once the coconut and milk is cooked, add sugar and stir it again for the next 7-8 minutes till the sugar gets dissolved and cooked properly.
  4. You will notice that the mixture has cooked properly and has come together like a dough.
