Spiced Beetroot Chaas is a refreshing and cooling recipe that is perfect to have on a hot Summer day. Not only this is different, but this is also healthy too. A perfect recipe to give to your kids, they will enjoy the color and will get the health benefits too.
This Beetroot Buttermilk is mixed with curd/yogurt and has a nice taste of green chilies and ginger to give it a spicy touch. Obviously, you can avoid green chillies if you are making for your kids. Adjust the spiciness according to your taste and preference.
This recipe goes really well with a South Indian meal or a thali. Try it sometime and surprise your parents or your partner.

This is the first time I tried this chaas recipe and I was amazed by the strong flavours. It is the perfect recipe to complete your meal. The combination of Beetroot and buttermilk is a beautiful combination. Also, the color of this drink is so pleasing to your eyes that you can’t say no to it!

- 1 number Beetroot Medium size
- 3-4 katori/cup Curd/Yogurt Fresh and not sour.
- 1 number Green chili
- small piece ginger Optional
- 1/2 teaspoon Roasted Cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Black Salt
- Salt as required
- water as required
Ingredients

- Wash and peel Beetroot. Now put this in a pressure cooker with some water and take 1-2 whistles. Just like how we boil potato/aloo.
- In a mixer grinder, add chopped boiled beetroot, green chili, and ginger. Make a smooth puree of it. Add a little water if required. Strain this puree using a strainer/chalni.
- Now in a big mixing bowl, take the beetroot puree, add Dahi and water. Add roasted cumin powder, salt, and rock salt.
- Whisk it well using a hand blender or a hand whisker.
- Check the taste and adjust the salt accordingly. Once done, you can serve the beetroot buttermilk immediately or refrigerate it for a few hours and serve chilled.
- Healthy and super yummy Spiced Beetroot Chaas is ready.
- If you don't want the spice, just make it with beetroot puree.
- Make the beetroot puree in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Use as and when required.
- Adjust the water according to your taste and preference.
