करौंदे की चटनी | Chutney Recipe | Karaunde ki Chutney.

करौंदे की चटनी is a seasonal chutney recipe that can be eaten with Rotis, paratha, uttapams, appams, etc. Basically करौंदे की चटनी is a tangy-sweet-sour chutney recipe that can be made in a jiffy. This chutney recipe doesn’t require that many ingredients. Just a few ingredients from your kitchen and voila, it’s done. Booyah!

करौंदे or Karaunda is a berry sized fruit that comes in oval shapes particularly in pink and one color. I am putting a picture down below for your reference. It is used in Indian pickles and spices. This is available during Monsoon season and is readily available in the sabzi market.

For this करौंदे की चटनी recipe, I have added coriander leaves to get chutney kind of thickness. Since Karaunde is tangy in taste, it’s very sour/khatta in taste, we have added sugar to balance the flavors.

Easy peasy chutney recipe that has got a twist in flavor. Those of you who like tangy chutney, you will love it for sure. It can be eaten with Dhokla, Khandvi, Sandwiches. Uff, YUM!

Karaunda as fruit is used in multiple forms. You can make pickles, chutney or even Karaunde-Hari mirch sabzi. Let’s get started.

  2. In a mixer jar, take de-seeded karaunda. Add coriander leaves, salt, sugar and green chilies.
  3. Add a bit of water just to blend it.
  4. Blend it well to a chutney consistency.
