Sev-Tamatar ki Sabzi

Sev-Tamatar ki sabzi is a delicious recipe made from sev cooked in tangy and spicy tomato gravy. An instant recipe with few ingredients which are easily available at home. You can make this recipe when you are out of ideas or when you don’t want to eat the typical boring regular sabzi, this recipe comes handy and it is super yum. This is a no onion- no garlic recipe.

  1. Wash tomatoes and chop them into medium chunks.
  2. Heat oil in a kadhai, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and allow them to crackle.
  3. Add curry leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder and tomatoes. Saute until the ingredients are well combined.
  4. Cook tomatoes on low flame till they are tender and soft.
  5. Add sugar and salt.
  6. Add water if it gets too thick. We want a medium thick gravy. Cook it for another half minute.
  7. When you are ready to serve add sev and mix it well with the tomato gravy.
  8. Garnish it with sev and serve hot.

Handy Notes :

# Instead of sugar, you can add jaggery.

# You can adjust sugar according to your taste. If you like it more sweet, add more sugar.

# I have made this no onion - no garlic, you can add onions if you want.
