Fresh Nariyal BARFI !!!

A traditional Indian dessert made out of fresh coconut and milk. It’s quick, yummy and melts in your mouth.

  • 1 Coconut Medium size (Scraped and then mixed in blender)
  • 1 kg Milk
  • 180 - 200 gms Sugar
  • a pinch Cardamom powder
  • 5 - 6 strands Saffron strands (mixed with a little milk)
  • 5 pistachios : for garnish

  • 1 Coconut Medium size (Scraped and then mixed in blender)
  • 1 kg Milk
  • 180 - 200 gms Sugar

Instructions
  1. In a heavy bottomed pan take milk and coconut. Mix them well. Stir continuously over high flame. Reduced this mixture to half.
  2. Add sugar and stir continuously.
  3. Cook it till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  4. Now add cardamom powder and half of the saffron which was mixed with milk. Mix them gently.
  5. Grease a tray or thali with ghee.
  6. Pour the mixture and spread it with the help of spatula.
  7. Garnish with pistachios and left over saffron milk.
  8. Cool and cut into pieces.
  9. Store in an air tight container.
