Chocolate Ice cream | Home made Ice cream

Chocolate Ice cream needs no introduction. We all love it, some of us may be not a huge fan of Chocolate Ice cream but kids love it to bits. Since Summer is here and the summer holidays will start soon, why not make Ice cream at home and surprise them? 😉

Homemade ice cream is not only easy to make, but it’s cheaper in price than the ones we eat in the market. It might not be “exact” like market ones, but trust me it is yummy and comes close to those. Make a big batch of this and store in your fridge for days and treat your kids and their friends too.

If you have seen my last recipe post, I have done a detailed, step-by-step recipe of “How to make Ice cream at home“. It was the basic Ice cream/ Vanilla Ice cream recipe and you can add any flavor of your choice to that and then freeze. With the same Vanilla batch, you can make Chocolate or butterscotch or any fruit Ice cream of your choice.

Let’s divide the recipe into parts.

Making Vanilla Ice cream – Just like in the earlier post, we have to make that fluffy base after beating with double beater. Obviously, we don’t have to freeze it. Before we freeze, add any flavor of your choice.

Making Chocolate Sauce.

  1. Vanilla Ice cream base as here
  2. This is the basic Vanilla Ice cream base, we can add any flavor to this and freeze.
  3. Chocolate Sauce
  4. For the Chocolate Sauce, in a Microwave safe bowl, take Dark chocolate + Cocoa powder + Coffee powder (mixed in warm water )
  5. Melt this in a microwave for 1 minute or melt on a double boiler.
  6. If melting in microwave, keep stirring after every 5 seconds.
  7. Make a medium thick chocolate sauce.
  8. Once chocolate sauce is cool down, add this to our Vanilla base. Always remember, do not put hot chocolate sauce. Let it cool down to normal temperature and then add.
  9. Mix it well with spatula or spoon. Add chocolate chips and mix.
  10. Pour this into an air tight container and sprinkle more chocolate chips and chocolate shavings.
  11. Cover it with an aluminum foil and put the lid.
  12. Freeze it in fridger for 7-8 hours or more.
  13. Scoop it with Ice cream scooper and serve with more Chocolate chips and chocolate cigars.
